Technical SEO
The problems you cannot see on the page
A website can look fine and still be letting you down. Slow pages, broken redirects, pages Google cannot index and layouts that jump about on mobile all cost you visitors before they understand what you offer.
These issues are usually hidden, which is why they go unfixed. Our technical SEO audit uncovers them, explains each one in plain English and sets out what to fix first. You can make the changes yourself, or our in-house developers can make them for you.
Who it’s for
Does your website need technical SEO?
- Sites with good content that still struggle to rank
- Businesses whose traffic dropped after a redesign, migration or platform change
- Websites with slow pages, weak Core Web Vitals or mobile usability problems
- Larger sites where important pages are not being crawled or indexed
What’s included
What our technical SEO services cover
-
Technical SEO audit
A detailed review of your site's backend using specialist tools, with each issue explained and a clear recommendation for fixing it.
-
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Finding what slows your pages, from oversized images to inefficient JavaScript, then optimising images, code and loading so pages respond quickly.
-
Crawlability and indexation
Resolving broken links, redirect chains, weak internal linking and canonical or robots problems, so search engines find and index the pages that matter.
-
Mobile usability
Testing how your site performs across screen sizes and fixing the layout, stability and responsiveness problems that frustrate mobile visitors.
-
Structured data
Adding and correcting schema markup so search engines understand your business, products and content, and markup errors stop holding pages back.
-
Migrations and monitoring
Protecting visibility through redesigns and platform moves with redirect mapping and pre-launch checks, then monitoring so new issues are caught early.
Our approach
How we work
Diagnose first, then prescribe.
-
Talk it through
We start with the problems you have noticed and what the website needs to achieve for the business.
-
Analyse
A data-driven review of crawling, indexing, speed, mobile performance and structured data across the whole site.
-
Audit and roadmap
A prioritised audit explaining each issue and how to fix it, with high-impact changes first.
-
Implement or hand over
Your team makes the changes, or our developers do it for you, on WordPress and most common platforms.
-
Monitor
Technical SEO is not a one-off fix. Ongoing monitoring catches new problems before they affect visibility or enquiries.

What does technical SEO aim to achieve?
Three things: making sure search engines can crawl your site, that the right pages are indexed, and that the site performs well for visitors. Get those right and your content and links have a fair chance of working. Get them wrong and even excellent content can struggle.
What is the difference between SEO and technical SEO?
SEO covers everything that affects search visibility, from content to links. Technical SEO deals specifically with the behind-the-scenes elements: speed, crawling, indexing, site structure, structured data and mobile performance. It is the foundation the rest of your SEO sits on.
How often should technical SEO be reviewed?
We suggest at least quarterly, and always before and after major changes such as a redesign, platform move or new functionality. Sites change constantly through plugin updates, new content and edits, and problems tend to creep in quietly.
Can you fix the issues as well as find them?
Yes. Our developers work in-house, so we can implement fixes on most platforms, especially WordPress, or work alongside your own developers if you prefer. You are not left with a report and no way to act on it.
We are redesigning our website. When should we involve you?
Before anything goes live, ideally at the planning stage. Lost redirects and changed URLs are one of the most common reasons traffic drops after a new website launches. We map old pages to new ones and check the site before and after launch.
